GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

The Union City Public Library is holding a raffle for a Kindle Fire reader. It retails for $200.00 and the chances are only $5.00 each. If you are interested, you may purchase tickets at the public library. The drawing will be in May in time for Mother's Day. Please consider supporting our library in this raffle.

Mr. Black has pie fund raising forms outside his room on a music stand. Please pick one up this week as they are due to Mr. Black next week.

The next NHS Blood Drive, with the Community Blood Bank, will be held Wednesday, February 29, from 8:30AM-1:30PM in the auxiliary gym.  If you are at least 16 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and are interested in giving, see Mr. Zarger or any NHS member.

Wish Hunter Boyce, Jasmin Humes and Austin Collins well as they travel to West Shamokin High School this Thursday, Friday and Saturday for Region Band. When they arrive, they will be trying out to see who might make it to State Band in April.  They are attending region band because of their excellent finish at District Band held here at UC in January! Each one has been practicing very hard.  Go UC!

Attention Juniors: Class dues must be paid to Mrs Dawson in the Guidance Office ASAP. This years dues are $5, but if you did not pay your dues from last year you will need to pay $10 to be current. Mrs Dawson has the list of who paid their dues last year. Juniors will not be permitted to attend the Prom until class dues are paid. We need to collect as many dues as possible now to help with prom expenses for this year.

There will be no By Kids for Kids the week of 2/21/12.

Please check the “Lost & Found” outside Officer Barber’s office for any items you may have lost.  All items left after school on Friday, February 24,  will be donated to others.

Attention students:  You can now check your updated balance due on your yearbook on the windows of the cafeteria.  Please turn in all money owed to Mrs. Mumau in room #208.

The following students have overdue books from the library:  Sierra Alicea, Bryce Amoroso, Alyssa Ball, Carley Biebel, Patrick Burns, Mason Elias, Kennedy Rose, and Marissa Schenk.  Please return or renew the missing books as soon as possible.

Attention seniors:  You can buy your class picture from Mrs. Mumau.  The cost is $10.00 for an 8X10 or $7.00 for a 5X7.

Peer Educators are collecting old cell phones and ink cartridges.  Please give all donations to Mrs. Gawllinski.

Information on the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program will be shared at our kickoff on October 3rd, 2011.  Parents and families are welcome to attend.  Grades 9-12 will meet at 8:00 am and Grades 6-8 will meet at 9:20 am in the Auditorium. For more information click here.

By Kids for Kids will be Tuesdays right after school in the Chorus room.The group will meet every Tuesday from 2:32-4:00PM.

The 1st United Methodist Church will have Youth Drop-In for students is grades 6-12 on Tuesdays from 2:45-5:00PM.

Any student interested in driving and/or taking their driver’s test with Mr. Margie can sign up in the high school office.
