Free and Reduced Lunch Application 2011-2012

Children need healthy meals to learn. Union City Area School District offers healthy meals every school day.
Meal pricing for 2011-2012 school year
$1.10-Breakfast both schools
$1.85-Elementary Lunch
$2.10-MS/HS Lunch
Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. Reduced prices are $.30 for breakfast and $.40 for lunch.
You can apply for free/reduced meals anytime during the school year, or reapply if income/household size changes.
Ala Carte & extras are not included in the free/reduced meals program. Example: baked chips, slushies at the MS/HS, or fruit snacks.
If your child wants only milk they will either have to bring in money or have money in their account. The cost of milk is $.50 each.
Students must take at least 3 of 5 offered meal items (meat, milk, bread, fruit and/or vegetable) to qualify for a free/reduced meal. If they don’t they will be charged. The cashiers will remind the student to take the appropriate number of items.
You must reapply each year to keep your free/reduced status. You will have 30 school days to do so then your child's status will go to FULL PAY. The applications will be available at the HS/MS office, Elementary office, Family Support Center or are available online at www.ucasd.org or www.compass.state.pa.us
If you have a SNAP/TANF number: It should start with 20 or 25 and will be on your eligibility notice in the upper right hand corner. Putting the wrong number on your free/reduced lunch application will delay being approved.
