The Department of Health's School Immunization regulation changes are in the final steps for being passed and in place for the 2010/2011 school year.
We do not anticipate any developments that will delay the process. We are encouraging schools to proceed with parent notifications of the new requirements.
The requirements are as follows:
All grades K-12 need the following:
4 doses of tetanus
4 doses of diphtheria
3 doses of polio
2 doses of measles
2 doses of mumps
1 dose of rubella
3 doses of hepatitis B
2 doses of varicella
7th grade additional requirements:
1 dose of meningococcal conjugate (MCV)
1 dose of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) If 5 years have elapsed since last tetanus containing vaccine
