Battle of the Books participants should stop in to get t-shirt order forms from Mrs. Post.  Order forms and money are due back to Mrs. Post Tues, 2/19.

 

There will be a prom committee meeting in room 221 on Wednesday, February 20th at 7:40 AM.  Please see Ms. Martin if you are unable to attend.

 

On February 20th from 6-8, Positive Youth Development along with other organizations in Union City will be hosting the first ever Youth United Event.  This event will be filled with games, dinner, music and more.  The event is open to all Middle and High School Students (can be from area schools).  Come join us for a night with a Message of Hope.  Students will enter through the Main Gym Doors.  There is no fee to attend this event.  See Mrs. Biebel with any questions.

Attention first semester Spanish I students:  If you would like your final project back, please pick it up in Ms. Martin's room by February 22nd.  Thanks!

Attention Students in 8, 9, 10, and 11th grades: Mrs. Tomcho sent the social studies survey to you; please log into your student Gmail and complete by TODAY.

Juniors: Your class dues must be paid no later than March 27th if you wish to attend prom.  Please pay your dues in the front office with Mrs. Himrod.  If there are extenuating circumstances, please let Ms. Martin, Ms. Williams, or Mrs. Tomcho know.  Thanks!

 

Attention Sophomores:  Class Dues are to be paid ASAP to Mrs. Himrod in the HS Office, $5 for grade 9 + $5 for grade 10.

Any student in grades 9-12 planning on joining the track and field team and are not participating in a winter sport, we are having practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school.  Please meet outside the library by the trainer’s room. 

 

The Flagship Niagara would like to inform students about the opportunity to sail on the U.S. Brig Niagara. The Live-Aboard Sail Training program is an opportunity for students to actually live on the U.S. Brig Niagara for two weeks, learning how to sail a 19th century warship, sleeping in hammocks, climbing the rigging, and learning about careers in the maritime industry. There are multiple programs throughout the season.  For ages 14-18. If interested, come to the main office to get an informational flyer.

 

Attention any boy not in a winter sport and has signed up for Region Champ football!! Weight training every Monday-Wednesday & Friday!! In order to repeat, you need to start now! See you there! Any questions see Coach Krause and/or Matt Krause!

FROM THE GUIDANCE OFFICE:

Please make sure you have submitted your scholarship applications on the Community Foundation website. If you have any questions about this please see the guidance office. Applications have to be submitted by March 1st. 

Patrick DiPaolo Scholarship needs to be postmarked by February 21st.

VFW Scholarship needs to be turned into Ms. Reynolds on Monday February 25th- no later!

The Community Foundation scholarship application has to be submitted online by March 1st.

The PA House of Representatives needs to be submitted online by March 1st

Hermine Solt Scholarship needs to be postmarked by March 1st.

School Nutrition Association needs to be postmarked by March 1st.

 

 

Reminder to students in Grades 10 & 11:

Students who are interested in the Summer PFEW (PA Free Enterprise Week) program are to bring your completed and signed applications to the Guidance Office by Friday, February 22nd. Don't miss this chance to participate in an amazing summer leadership experience. Please see Mrs. Dawson if you need an application or have questions about the program.

The Northwest Pennsylvania Christian College Fair will be held at Erie First Christian Academy on Tuesday, March 12th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Admission is free

 

On Monday, March 25, the Hafenmaier College at Mercyhurst University is hosting a “Day in Hafenmaier College” for juniors and seniors. The event is a valuable time for students to visit our campus and experience a day in the life of a Mercyhurst student. They will tour the campus, sit in classes, meet with faculty, and have lunch with current students. The Hafenmaier College is one of the most diverse academic schools on the Mercyhurst campus, housing programs in Art, Dance, Music, Archaeology and Anthropology, Psychology, History, English, Philosophy, Religious Studies, Education, and World Languages.  This event is free of charge! Need to register on Mercyhurst's website.

 

Camp Cadet information is available in the guidance office for interested boys and girls ages 13 to 15. This is a great camp ran by the Pennsylvania State Police at Allegheny College from June 16th through June 21st.

Attention seniors who were planning to attend the Great Lakes, EIT and Mercyhurst North East: The new date for the field trip is Friday, February 15th. Your previous permissions slips can still be used but you must see your teachers for missed work for that day. Any other seniors who are interested in attending can pick up a new Fieldtrip form from the Guidance Office.

Seeking motivated students in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade with an interest in team building, business strategy, management, marketing, finance, and more.  Edinboro is having the Xavier and Tina Williams Summer Youth Business Academy June 9th through the 13th. Full scholarships are available. See the guidance office for more information. 

 

Don't forget to ask the Guidance Office to send a copy of your High School Transcripts to any college to which you have applied.  When you have been accepted to a school or branch of service, please let Ms. Reynolds know along with a copy of your acceptance letter.
