Union City High School

Union City High School had the pleasure of welcoming Erie Bird Observatory member Mrs. Mary Birdsong. While visiting with our students, Mary presented a lesson on the Federally Endangered Piping Plover to the Mr. Colwell's PA Wildlife Class.  Mrs. Birdsong is the lead shorebird monitor for the Erie Bird Observatory.  Her lesson focused on her monitoring of the Piping Plover, its population recovery, and how different agencies interact to protect this critically endangered bird and its habitat at Presque Isle.
