Again this year, our 8th graders embarked on an exciting trip to Washington, D.C., where they spent three days and two nights immersing themselves in the rich history and culture the city has to offer. During their visit, students explored several significant museums, including the Holocaust Museum and the African American History Museum. One of the highlights of the trip was the monuments and memorials walk, where students particularly enjoyed visiting the Lincoln Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial. Additionally, students had the opportunity to see the White House and Ford’s Theatre. A particularly awe-inspiring moment was when they stood beneath the magnificent ceiling of the Rotunda in the U.S. Capitol Building. Rounding out their experiences was a front-row view of the Changing of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. Overall, this trip was a meaningful and educational experience that enhanced our students' understanding of American history and civic engagement.
