On Time in October! School begins at 7:50am. Students arriving after 7:50am will be marked late. Even a few minutes missed in the morning can add up — 394 minutes of missed instruction equals one full day of absence. Each part of the day is filled with valuable instruction and activities. Let's work together to help our students start their day on time and ready to learn!

UCASD was a proud recipient of a Dollar General Literacy Foundation grant this summer! The DGLF grant program provides funding opportunities for schools to develop summer-based literacy programs, so this allowed us to host a "Literacy Leap Week" program on-campus for students who were in Grades K-2 during the 2024-2025 school year. The program focused on targeted, individualized literacy skills development for each student, blended with fun and engaging learning experiences planned by our teachers. We are so grateful for Dr. Tomcho and our teachers, Mrs. Bem, Mrs. Boyd, Ms. Mlynar, Mrs. Smock, and Ms. Trauner, who made this program a wonderful experience for our 20 participants. Happy Reading, Students & Families! #GoBears

If you're looking for fun ways to engage your child in learning and curiosity this summer, visit our "Summer Fun!" page created by Mrs. Bailey Pituch, our United Way Community School Director, at https://www.ucasd.org/o/uaes/page/summer-fun.
