Hello, Union City Cyber Academy Families!
Mid-Term Progress Reports will be mailed out to all full-time middle/high school cyber students tomorrow, Thursday, March 6. This report was pulled as of 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. All students in middle/high school courses at UCASD receive progress reports shortly after the midterm to help students and families understand their progress as we move through the 3rd quarter.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s academic progress, please contact:
1) Your child’s cyber instructor at Warren using the contact information on the homepage for each course in the Buzz Portal. It is imperative that you communicate with them, as they create the courses and complete all of the grading.
2) Your child’s guidance counselor at UCASD, as he/she is the individual who develops the child’s schedule and can support them and answer questions.
All cyber students have the option to return to Brick & Mortar instruction in their classes at the quarter/semester exchanges, and students who are not successful may be required to return per our UCASD Cyber Handbook. Because of the recent snow days, this quarter ends on Monday, March 31, 2025.
If you would like for your child to return to Brick & Mortar for Quarter 4, please contact your child’s guidance counselor and/or Mrs. Dell (sdell@ucasd.org) before March 26, 2025.
As you have questions about your child’s enrollment, schedule, or progress in cyber classes, please communicate with your child’s guidance counselor, as indicated above. Additionally, please check our middle/high school website and live feed for updates and the permission slips and information about our after school tutoring program.
Thank you for your commitment to your child’s education!

As we inch a little closer to Spring, we wanted to share the dates for the upcoming PSSA and Keystone exams taking place in April and May. In addition to the testing dates and the available make-up days for any students who are absent, this handout also provides you with which grade-levels take which PSSAs and which high school courses are Keystone capstone courses for those exams. Check it out, and reach out to your School Assessment Coordinator if you have any questions!

We value your input! Every three years, UCASD conducts a comprehensive review of our programs and offerings as part of the statewide Comprehensive Planning process. Throughout the past few weeks, our Steering Committee, made up of teachers, administrators, counselors, and parents from all levels, met to conduct a needs assessment and develop our 2025-2028 UCASD Comprehensive Plan. That plan is now posted on our website for your review and input. Click this link to check it out: https://www.ucasd.org/o/union-city-sd/page/comprehensive-planning

Check your emails this afternoon for an update from Mrs. Dell with some helpful reminders, as well as our current UCASD 2024-2025 Academic Calendar, tutoring information, and more!

We are so excited to have students back on campus. What a great start to the 2023-2024 school year!

Teachers returned to campus as a group at the end of August and participated in sessions on school safety protocol, mental health resources, and student-focused strategies within the classroom and educational setting.

Chef Byler Secures Grant! UCASD Food Service has been awarded the USDA Healthy
Meals Incentive grant for the 2023-2025 school years, this is very exciting as only 60 schools nationwide were awarded the grants! The grant is in excess of $130,000 over two years!

Lucy spent six Saturdays over the summer going to Lake Erie K-9 working on obtaining her second necessary certificate on the way to becoming an official Therapy Dog. Despite being the youngest, and of course smallest pup in class... ShePASSED!!!!
Lucy looks forward to seeing all her friends back on campus.

The first day of school is August 29th! We can't wait to see everyone back. The full 2023-2024 School Calendar can be found at https://5il.co/23a47
