Once again our 8th grade class traveled to Washington DC. The class of 2030 visited the White House, toured the Capitol Building, saw the Declaration of Independence, and spent time admiring many of the memorials and museums in the DC area. It was an amazing trip and we are so proud of the way our kids for represent the Union City Community.

Did you know that the Hayden R. Hitchcock Memorial Foundation is sponsoring an upcoming FREE concert for the community right here at UC? That evening, UCASD is hosting a free "Wellness Fair" for all families and community members. The free live music, ATTABOY, sponsored exclusively by the Hayden R. Hitchcock Memorial Foundation, will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the MS/HS gymnasium. From 5:00-7:00, we are inviting families to come learn about local wellness resources from community providers and participate in interactive, student-friendly activities centered around mental health and well-being. Both fliers for these events are included below.

More information about the concert (not a school-sponsored event) can be accessed on the QR code on the ATTABOY flier.

Admission to the UCASD Wellness Fair is free for all community members, as is admission to the Foundation's concert.

Greetings, Bears! We are sharing our 2025-2026 UCASD School Assessment Calendar. This calendar highlights each of the testing dates for our Winter and Spring Keystone Exams for high school students and our Spring PSSAs for elementary and middle school. The image includes details on which grade-levels and content areas are tested and which Keystone exams are taken when. We also have a host of resources and information for families posted on our Student Assessment page on our District Website. Please feel free to check it out and know that you are always welcome to reach out to your child's guidance counselor and School Assessment Coordinator, Mr. McMahan, Mr. Anthony, and/or Mrs. Conti, or our District Assessment Coordinator, Mrs. Dell, with any questions throughout the year. We will host informational sessions for parents/guardians later this year and will also be sure to send reminders out as we get closer to each testing window. We are having a great kick-off to 2025-2026 and are so proud of our students! #GoBears

Each grade level enjoyed a presentation related to the book their class was reading. After the presentations some of the students were invited to participate in a writers workshop and book signing.
