Career Pathway Information
The Union City Area School District is committed to preparing students for success beyond high school. To that end, we center our students' educational programming through a pathways-based approach to learning, course selection, and college and career readiness experiences. The five pathways are at the heart of our students' learning experiences from elementary up through high school, which are featured on the Career Pathways Flyers below, which were revised in June of 2025 to support the Erie County Career Pathways Alliance’s career exploration initiatives. The documents below encompass 16 industry clusters, with funding support from Erie County government. Each flyer is grounded in regional and statewide data, and is intended to be a resource for students, families, educators, and job seekers. The flyers can be found here:
The flyers and information above are helpful resources not only to our school community but to parents/guardians, businesses and community partners, and other stakeholders who are supporting students through their educational journeys.
Additionally, we encourage students and families to take a look at the graphic and below to see how these pathways help inform educational programming for students here at UCASD:

UCASD Profile of a Graduate
Over the past several years, Erie Together has led the creation of an invaluable resource for Erie County: a Profile of a Graduate. This project was developed through the Erie County Career Pathways Alliance, a 40-member Community Steering Committee, and the YouScience organization. Union City Area School District, along with the other districts in the county, have adopted this resource as an important tool.
The Profile of a Graduate, pictured below and linked here as a PDF, articulates the skills and attributes that we believe our high school graduates should possess in order to achieve success throughout their lifetime. Our hope is that, as they cross the stage upon graduation, our students are: Academically Ready, Life Ready, Civic-Minded, Workplace Ready, Future Focused, and Financially Savvy.
