PaTTAN Grant

On February 20, UCASD hosted a live webinar with Julie and Kristie from Inclusive Schooling as part of our PaTTAN Developing Future Special Educators grant, and we were able to welcome more than 120 students from 15 different school districts onto that webinar to increase awareness about the importance of special educators in the field of education. The students engaged in a host of collaborative activities to learn about the power of inclusion and the tenets of special education. They networked with students from all over the State of PA, received access to a dashboard of resources to explore, and discussed their own connections to careers in education.

Additionally, our cohort of DFSE grant participants at UC have been traveling around to college campuses, including PennWest, Slippery Rock University, and Gannon, to tour and learn about special education programs AND will be visiting other providers such as IU5, BNI, and Sara Reed to learn more about this career pathway within human services.

UCASD is proud to be a PaTTAN DFSE Grant recipient and wants to thank all of our special education faculty and staff members, guidance counselors, and administrators who have made these experiences possible for our students and so many others!
