It is our pleasure to welcome Mr. Scott Mondy to the Union City Family as our next Elementary Principal. Mr. Mondy will be taking over the reins of the UCASD Elementary School Principal on July 1, 2026, from Dr. Tomcho who is retiring on June 30, 2026, after a distinguished career.

Mr. Mondy’s career in education began in 2007 when he started teaching in West Palm Beach, Florida. Since then, he has had the opportunity to work with students at the elementary level across multiple districts. In addition to education, Mr. Mondy spent time as the Director of Sales for the Erie BayHawks of the NBA G League. Most recently, he served as a fifth-grade teacher at Conneaut Lake Elementary and Head Boys Basketball Coach at Conneaut Area Senior High School.
When Mr. Mondy is not at work you can find him spending time with his wife, Melissa, who is also an educator. They have two children, Trey (14) and Lucy (12), who keep them busy and focused. We will be sharing much more information on Mr. Monday soon, as well as be announcing opportunities for families, students, faculty, and staff to meet him!
