The Northwest Pennsylvania C.L.A.S.S. Act Emerging Leader program recognizes well-rounded, publicly educated students from 17 school districts across Erie, Crawford, and Warren Counties. Last Evening Nikaylin Higley was named the 2026 winner! Higley, a 2026 graduate from UCASD, will be attending Cleveland State University this fall, and will be majoring in Chemical Engineering.
The award is in it's third year, and to date has given over $60,000 in scholarships to local juniors and seniors. Bethesda Lutheran Services, VNET, Erie County Community College, and Erie News Now are the major sponsors.
