Union City Area School District is one of the recent recipients of a Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority (PBDA) grant through the ARPA Capital Projects Fund Digital Connectivity Technology program.
This grant will not only allow us to deploy some laptops into the community through our ConnectUC Laptop Borrowing Program beginning this summer, but we'll also be able to host open lab sessions for community members, digital literacy events and training sessions, and more! Through our partnership with SkillUpPA, UCASD residents can take advantage of free occupational skills training, as well.

Great work on our Keystone exam kick-off this week, Bears! Students completed Keystone Literature exams on Monday and Tuesday. If you are currently enrolled in an accredited Pennsylvania program to become a K-12 School Psychologist, a K-12 School Counselor, or a K-12 School Nurse and planning to complete your internship during the 2025-2026 school year, consider applying to complete your PAID internship at UCASD! Our District has submitted our 2025-2026 application to serve as a site location for this paid grant opportunity through the PA HELPS program. We'd love for you to come learn with us! UCASD is now accepting applications for a full-time Athletic Director (new position). The position requires a four-year degree, with preference given to those with experience in athletics administration.
A Boys' Basketball Junior High Head Coach is also needed.
The attached postings provide more information and application instructions for these positions. Applications are due by 1:00 PM on Monday, May 19, 2025.
Next week kicks off Keystone testing for some of our high school students! Students take the Keystone exams in Literature, Algebra, and Biology throughout the next two weeks. The specific dates for each assessment are posted below on our district's Statewide Assessment Calendar. Good afternoon! We want to wish the BEST of luck to all students in Grades 3-8 on tomorrow's PSSA Mathematics assessments! Students will take the mathematics assessments on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. Students in Grades 5 & 8 will also take the PSSA Science assessments on Thursday and Friday of this week. That will conclude PSSA testing for the year, other than any students completing make-up exams the following week. Spring Keystones for students enrolled in English 10, Biology, and Algebra 1 will take place in May. Congratulations Trent Parkhurst! Trent was the winner for the annual Allstate driving competition. Trent received a trophy and $1,000 for his efforts.
Congratulation Daniel McNulty! 2nd place winner in the Allstate Insurance driving competition. Daniel received a nice trophy and $500.
Congratulations to Trevin Capela. Trevin will be attending Mid-Atlantic Christian University in the fall, and will be playing baseball. A signing ceremony was held for Trevin and his family/teammates yesterday after school.
