On October 6th, Union City Area High School STEM students traveled to the AHN Cardiovascular Institute in Pittsburgh for a front-row seat to modern medicine! Students had the opportunity to observe a live open-heart surgical procedure directly from the observation booth

We are thrilled to announce that two outstanding Union City students have earned membership in the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) at the Erie County Technical School! Admission into NTHS is a prestigious honor that recognizes students committed to both educational excellence and community service. Join us in celebrating Michael Carter and Salama Saidat on this impressive achievement!

Union City Area School District is currently accepting applications for a Full - Time Second Shift Custodian. Employment would begin at $13.48 an hour. Applications are made out to Glenn Shaffer by 1:00pm on October 5, 2026. We look forward to you joining the bear family!

GAME NIGHT! The football team is back in action tonight as they welcome the Sharpsville Blue Devils for a non-region matchup. We are also excited to host this game as our Military Appreciation night. We will have the American Legion Color Guard presenting the colors, veteran recognition on the field, all military members will get into the game for free tonight! We hope to see you all there!

Congratulations to our golfers who qualified for districts! Emma Frank, Allie Anderson, and Brooke Erickson will represent the girls team on Monday. Ian Kinney, Joey Zahner and Cooper Fox will play Tuesday for the boys. They all will be looking to move onto the final day on Wednesday. Good luck Bears!

Union City Area Elementary had some special visitors at lunchtime on Homecoming Friday. Members of our High School Varsity Football Team and their coaches spent time with our students during all seven lunch periods, talking with and helping students, leading a team breakdown, and finishing their visit with a picture with our 5th graders. It was great having our older students spend some time with our younger Bears!

Tonight is the Homecoming football game! Come out and celebrate by watching a great game. We welcome the Saegertown Panthers into town for the 'Battle of the Reservoir' Rivalry as well. We hope to see you and good luck Bears!

This year, Colman's Custom Apparel will be presenting an Athlete of the Week. One junior high and one high school student will be chosen each week. The first honorees are Alivia Zielinski for volleyball and Aubrianna McNulty for basketball. Congratulations!

It's Homecoming in Union City! This Friday we welcome the Saegertown Panthers to Union City for a night of festivities. Not only is this Homecoming, the game has more at stake as its the 2nd 'Battle of the Reservoir'. The Bears will look to bring home the trophy for the first time, as Saegertown won the first game last year. The team will host a Tailgate at the practice field starting at 5 until the game starts. Halftime will include our Wall of Achievement inductees and the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen!

Also, we have our first student nominated for the Erie Times-News Athlete of the Week! Kimmy Zielinski started her week with 20 assists and 4 aces in a sweep of Tidioute Charter. She followed that up with 26 assists, 5 kills, and 11 digs in a 5 set battle with Titusville.

Union City's Josh Mitcham has been nominated for Pre-Season Cross Country Runner of the Year for District 10. Josh opened the 2026 campaign with a 14th place finish out of 350 runners at the Hoka Night XC Showcase in Geneva, OH.
