"Hello, my name is Aidanne McLaughlin, and I am so excited to be joining the Union City Area School District as a new teacher! I am from Saegertown, PA, and recently graduated from Slippery Rock University with a degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. At SRU, I was able to create a strong foundation in teaching and gained valuable hands-on experiences that prepared me for the classroom. I truly look forward to building relationships with students, families, and staff, and can’t wait to get started!”

“Hello, my name is Jacques "JT" Taylor, and I'm from Pittsburgh, PA. I graduated from Gateway High School in 2021, and afterwards enrolled at Notre Dame College, before transferring to Edinboro University. I did my student teaching placements along with substitute teaching in the General McLane, Fort LeBeouf, and Girard School Districts. Outside of school, I enjoy working out, cooking food (mainly barbecue), golfing, and watching sports. I am very excited to join the staff and continue my educational journey!”

“Hello, my name is Veira Gorniak but everyone calls me Miss G! I graduated from McDowell High School and continued my education at Penn State Behrend, where I majored in Early Childhood Education. As a recent college graduate, I am incredibly excited to begin my teaching career at UCASD. I am passionate about helping students learn and grow, and I look forward to welcoming my very own 3rd-grade class this year.”

“Hello, my name is Marissa Mattocks, I am a proud graduate of Union City Area School District and recently earned my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology. I am currently working toward my master’s degree in guidance counseling. Professionally, I have worked in several long-term substitute roles within the district, including 4th grade, kindergarten, and a guidance counselor maternity leave position, along with day-to-day building subbing and my current work with ESS across Erie and Crawford County. As a Union City graduate, the opportunity to join the team is incredibly meaningful to me, and I am honored to give back to a district that has had such a strong impact on my life.”
