This week's program features the FREE coursework available to our community members to develop in-demand workforce skills through SkillUp PA. You do not need to bring anything with you. Laptops will be available for use. The event is from 6:00-7:00.
In addition to the digital literacy events, we have open lab nights, including one tomorrow from 4:00-7:00, and a laptop borrowing program that allows community members to sign out quality devices for free during 90-day increments. Did you know that UCASD is the proud recipient of a Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority Grant?! The goal of the program, entitled ConnectUC, is to bring access to technology to support digital literacy and occupational skills training opportunities. Through this grant, we are are able to offer three different programs to the community: 1) A Laptop Borrowing Program for Community Members, 2) A Digital Literacy Event Series for Community Members, and 3) Open Lab Nights for Community Members. Union City will continue their tournament run tomorrow, 10/23, against the Cochranton Cardinals. The game will be played at Conneaut High School at 7:15. Tickets will once again only be sold online via the Hometown Tickets app.
Josh Mitcham was recognized for his race on Tuesday, where he won the region race against Harbor Creek in record time! Josh beat the Union City course record by almost 5 seconds, with a time of 11:54.88.
Brooke VanTassel made the list for the volleyball team. In a sweep of Girard, Brooke helped the team with 10 kills, 5 digs, and 3 aces.
